Cold-Rolled Steel – Notice of Preliminary Determination
On August 23, 2018, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made preliminary determinations of dumping and subsidizing with respect to certain cold-rolled steel in coils or cut lengths from China, South Korea and Vietnam.
Provisional duties will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after August 23, 2018.
For importations of subject goods for which the exporter has not been issued a specific rate, the rates of anti-dumping duty are equal to:
China – All Exporters 91.9%
South Korea – All Exporters 53.0%
Vietnam – All Exporters 99.2%
For importations of subject goods for which the exporter has not been issued a specific rate, the rates of countervailing duty are equal to:
China – All Exporters 11.6%
South Korea – All Exporters 11.3%
Vietnam – All Exporters 6.5%
Certain 54-inch Gypsum Board -Â Termination of Investigation
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) determined that the evidence does not disclose a reasonable indication that the dumping of certain 54-inch gypsum board from the US, imported into Canada for use or consumption in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories (collectively “Western Canadaâ€) has caused injury or retardation or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry and has terminated the preliminary injury inquiry with respect to certain 54-inch gypsum board from the US.
Consequently, the Canada Border Services Agency terminated the investigation of dumping in respect of certain 54-inch gypsum board from the US, effective August 21, 2018.
