Certain Upholstered Domestic Seating – Notice of Initiation of Investigations

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated investigations on December 21, 2020, under the Special Import Measures Act respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain upholstered domestic seating from China and Vietnam. The investigations follows a complaint filed by Palliser Furniture Ltd. (Winnipeg, MB).

Certain Grinding Media – Notice of Initiation of Investigations

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated investigations on December 17, 2020, under the Special Import Measures Act respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain grinding media from India. The investigations follow a complaint filed by Magotteaux Limittée.

Certain Concrete Reinforcing Bar – Statement of Reasons—Initiation of an Investigation

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an investigation on December 4, 2020, respecting the alleged injurious dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from Oman and Russia.

Oil Country Tubular Goods – Conclusion of Normal Value Review

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today concluded a normal value review to update the normal values and export prices applicable to certain oil country tubular goods (OCTG) exported to Canada from the United States of America by Conestoga Supply Corporation (Conestoga).

The normal value review is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) finding of a threat of injury issued on April 2, 2015, respecting the dumping of certain OCTG from the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Vietnam.

The CBSA did not receive any case arguments or reply submissions following the November 24, 2020 close of record.

Wheat Gluten – Notice of Preliminary Determination

The preliminary phase of the investigation is now complete. The evidence available to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) indicates that wheat gluten originating in or exported from Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Lithuania have been dumped. Therefore, on December 23, 2020, the CBSA made a preliminary determination of dumping respecting these goods pursuant to subsection 38(1) of SIMA.

Provisional duties will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from the CBSA on or after December 23, 2020.

Carbon and Alloy Steel Line Pipe – Conclusion of Normal Value and Export Price review

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today concluded a normal value and export price review to update all normal values and export prices of certain carbon and alloy steel line pipe (line pipe) exported to Canada from the Republic of Korea by SeAH Steel Corporation (SeAH).

The review follows requests for re‑determination filed by an importer and is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) injury finding respecting the dumping of line pipe from the Republic of Korea.
