Whole potatoes – Notice of initiation of expiry review investigation
As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated an expiry review investigation to determine, whether the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of the subject goods. The CBSA will make a determination no later than December 24, 2020, and will issue a Statement of Reasons by January 8, 2021.
The subject goods are “Whole potatoes, excluding seed potatoes, excluding imports during the period from May 1 to July 31, inclusive, of each calendar year; and excluding red potatoes, yellow potatoes and exotic potato varieties, regardless of packaging, and white and russet potatoes imported in 50‑lb cartons in the following count sizes: 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80, imported from the United States of America, for use or consumption in the province of British Columbia.â€
As part of its expiry review investigation, the CBSA has solicited responses to questionnaires from Canadian producers, importers and exporters. Any Canadian producers, importers or exporters who have not received a letter from the CBSA who wish to provide a response to the questionnaire are advised to contact the CBSA SIMA Registry and Disclosure Unit. Responses to all questionnaires are due at the CBSA SIMA Registry and Disclosure Unit’s email address by September 8, 2020.
Concrete reinforcing bar 2 – Notice of close of record and updated schedule – Normal value review
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has closed (JUL.28.2020) the record of the normal value review of certain concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) exported to Canada from Spain by Nervacero, S.A.
The normal value review is part of the CBSA’s enforcement of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal’s (CITT) finding of injury issued on May 3, 2017, respecting the dumping of certain concrete reinforcing bar from Belarus, the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen and Matsu (Chinese Taipei), the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Portugal, and Spain, in accordance with the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA).
The updated schedule for this normal value and export price review is available on the CBSA website. Interested parties will now have seven days from the close of the record to file submissions concerning this review.
