Animal Feed – Policy and Procedure Updates

Please be advised that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has updated the following regulatory guidance document for livestock feeds:

• RG-10, Importing livestock feeds (mixed feeds and single ingredient feeds) into Canada

Note the following changes that have been made:

• Information on the importation of plant-based feed ingredients and African Swine Fever has been added to the section “Import conditions for livestock feeds”.
• A new section providing importers with information on what to do if there are issues with importing livestock feeds into Canada has been added to the end of RG-10.
• Additional Government of Canada resources (CFIA AIRS web page, Canada Border Services Agency and CFIA NISC (National Import Service Centre)) have been added to the “References” section.
