Amendments to the Canada – Costa Rica Organic Equivalency Arrangement (CCROEA)

The Canada – Costa Rica Organic Equivalency Arrangement (CCROEA) which was originally signed under the Organic Products Regulations in 2013 was updated in July 2024 to refer to the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations. Organic plant products imported from Costa Rica must be accompanied by an organic certificate issued by a Costa Rican accredited Certification Body (CB) and an export certificate signed by the National Phytosanitary Service/ Servicio Fitosanitario del Estado (SFE). The list of Costa Rican CBs is available via the Costa Rica competent authority web page (In Spanish only).
