Amendment 14 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations – Opportunities to share your views

On April 30, 2016, Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) initiated the development of Amendment 14 to the Energy Efficiency Regulations.  This Amendment will introduce or update energy efficiency standards and, where applicable, test methods and associated reporting and compliance requirements for 15 product categories.

NRCan has posted technical bulletins on its website to outline the regulatory changes being considered for these product categories in order to solicit stakeholder views.

Stakeholders are encouraged to submit written comments on these technical bulletins by June 30, 2016 (the sooner the better) to inform analysis of any potential changes.

Webinars will be held in the coming weeks to present the details of each technical bulletin and to hear the views of stakeholders.  Interested parties are encouraged to register for these webinars.

Stakeholder input will inform the development of a formal regulatory proposal in early 2017.
