Location

Southern Ontario – Toronto, Starford, Cambridge, Waterloo, Milton, GTA . Position is remote but travel is required

Key Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • A College or University Degree is mandatory.

Experience:

  • Possess two to five years of freight forwarding sales experience, with a preference for selling solutions and/or services.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the MS Office Suite.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Independence:

  • Exhibit the ability to work independently on the road or from a home office, as well as collaboratively within a team.

Sales Skills:

  • Strong prospecting, negotiating, and closing skills are crucial.

Problem-Solving:

  • Showcase problem-solving abilities, accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
Description of Role

This role is integral to driving business growth by acquiring new clients, securing additional business from existing customers, and maintaining strong relationships to uphold current business.

Prospecting Excellence:

  • Implement strategic initiatives to attract new clientele.
  • Effectively manage and nurture existing client accounts to ensure retention, satisfaction, and growth.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand wallet share by introducing additional services or solutions to current customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure new business opportunities within the existing client base.
  • Devising innovative approaches to upsell and cross-sell to existing customers. 
  • Collaborate closely with the customs brokerage sales department, fostering robust relationships that translate into promising business prospects.

Client Engagement:

  • Conduct insightful meetings with prospects to assess their requirements and compatibility with Willson’s offerings.
  • Target potential business customers within the assigned territory, demonstrating a deep understanding of client needs.

Negotiation Prowess:

  • Exhibit advanced negotiation skills to secure outcomes that foster mutually beneficial partnerships between Willson and customers.
  • Develop innovative solutions for strategic service issues to secure new business.

Proposal Development:

  • Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients, effectively showcasing Willson’s unique value proposition and tailored solutions.

Client Servicing:

  • Execute the service plan for existing customers, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide feedback from client interactions to contribute to product/service enhancements.
  • Demonstrate effective crisis management skills, resolving client issues promptly and maintaining positive relationships during challenging situations.

Continuous Professional Development:

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and changes in the industry.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to continually enhance sales and negotiation skills.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM):

  • Utilize CRM tools to maintain accurate records of interactions, track leads, and manage customer relationships.
  • Leverage CRM data for strategic planning and targeted outreach.

Networking and Industry Involvement:

  • Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to expand professional networks and identify potential business opportunities.

Territory Management:

  • Regularly travel (car) to client sites within the assigned territory, representing Willson with professionalism and enthusiasm. 

Flexibility:

Demonstrate adaptability and versatility in a dynamic work environment, performing all other duties as assigned.
